What's in My Purse?

With the new year, comes new things. Lots of fun, new things. Therefore, I thought I would post of bunch of my new favorites & they all happen to be in my purse right now!

First off, I got this cute purse at Francesca's for a steal of $26 this week with the great after Christmas deals! This is about average for me to spend on purses. I hate spending too much money, because I'm the type of person that likes things to change too often. When I spend money on a purse, I don't use it a year from when I bought it. Therefore, I buy the cheap ones that tear up a lot easier, but hey, at least I can just buy a new one when they do show some wear because I never broke the bank in the first place.

Even though it just looks like a bunch of crap, all of these are MY LIFE!

1 // My Lifesaver. I mean, my wallet. This is a Spartina Wallet, aka, the best wallet I have ever owned. This is their "Snap Wallet" but it holds 16 credit cards and still has room for bills, coins & business cards. The best thing is, they are canvas, which means they are easy to clean when they get dirty and only cost $36. Therefore, if you are in the market for a new wallet, BUY ONE OF THESE, NOW.

2 // A koozie! First off, I'm always cold. Always. Therefore, whether it be a soda, a water, or a beer, no matter where I am, I always have something with me to make sure it doesn't make me colder. The one I always keep in my purse is my wedding Koozie.

3 // My Lipsticks. I always have something on my lips, whether it be this amazing chapstick by Softlips  in Fresh Mint for $3 or my favorite lipsticks. Right now, the two in rotation are both amazing at keeping the color on while I eat and drink (very important, because I always tend to wear lipstick when going out!)

 *  Rimmel London's Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick 012 Rosette Color here for $6 &
 *  Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor 140 Fuchsia Fever Color here for $8

And of course, I need something to keep my lipsticks in. Because I have experienced the "lipstick all over everything" at least once in my life. This adorable little Pink bag I have them in was $3 at H&Mm which was such a great snag!

Also, every girl needs a mirror. If you don't have one in your purse, you're crazy and are obviously borrowing everyone else's. Therefore, this adorable Lilly Pulitzer one is perfect for my purse!

4 // Sunglasses. Yes, I'm crazy and have three pairs in my purse at all times. For me, I have huge cheeks, and it's very hard to have just one pair that will match every single outfit I have. Especially since I think  "black sunglasses" are just WAY TOO BORING.

*Gray and Black Leopard Print Sunnies - Gap for $30
* Blue Aviators - TJMaxx for $5
* Simple Tortoise Shell Sunnies - Unclaimed Baggage for $3

5 // Earbuds. Because I can't go grocery shopping without them. I honestly don't use them for anything else. Since I work from home, I just blast my music out loud all day and when I take my little Cooper on his walk, I like to just enjoy the silence of the neighborhood.

6 // My keys, of course! There is nothing new about these, except the adorable chevron key. Therefore, I'm in the market for some way to make my keys cuter. Any suggestions?!

Also, check out how nicely my AMAZING new SURFACE PRO 3 fits in my new purse?!

I'm in the market for a case for this sweet computer/tablet, so that I can easily throw it in my purse on the go!

Hope you enjoyed getting a peek inside my purse!

Christmas Photos

Being newly married, I wanted to have Christmas Photos taken last year to simply capture our lives together as a married couple. Even though we have all of our amazing wedding photos, my goal is to continue having photoshoots with each other so that we have a timeline of our relationship together.

These photos were taken in my in-law's backyard & by my talented sister-in-law Leah

This is my in-law's sweet pup, Baxter! (@huebydogs on Instagram)

This was our Christmas card last year (2013), right after we took the photos, because it really describes our relationship perfectly. We are always laughing, and Dave can't take a picture with a straight face to save his life!

We weren't able to take photos this year, we literally ran out of time, so I managed to force our pets into a photo (since this is Cooper's first Christmas) and we came up with this for our 2014 card

So basically, The Huebner's are wishing you a Very Merry Christmas!!

Cooper's 1st Birthday!!

Some might think it's a little silly to celebrate your dog's birthday like we did, but those people most likely have children. For Dave & I, these are our children. So yes, we woke him up with a party hat and sang him "HAPPY BIRTHDAY," while he stared at us like we were crazy people who must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. And yes, I did find this adorable PUPCAKE recipe on Pinterest (of course) and made them the night before his BIG DAY! It was a stupid easy recipe that anyone could make in 15 minutes flat with some basic ingredients you have lying around the house!

These are adorable right?!

The Ingredients are all safe for the pups and were definitely approved by this little guy!

I followed Jen Wood's recipe, but added a little milkmen to the top of mine and only added a small amount of Peanut Butter to whole batch EXCEPT for the BIRTHDAY BOY'S! Obviously, on his, I had to cover the whole thing in PB, because he's literally obsessed with it. & of course, I was trying to get professional grad photos of him eating it, but once again, I realized, I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL & our dog is really obsessed with food. I did snap a few, and they are adorable enough to share!

So, please tell me you celebrate your pets too?!

36 days til Christmas feels like 10?!

Can someone please explain to me how this years Christmas has come at us FULL FORCE? I feel like we just had Halloween, oh yeah, BECAUSE WE DID! I'm all for having 5 Christmas trees in a small house that should only have one, but goodness, it's come early this year. Driving down my street, there are already THREE houses with some sort of Christmas decoration out. Luckily, since it was always a tradition in my house to break them out on the day of Thanksgiving, my husband and I always do the same. Therefore, those decorations are still getting dusty in our attic. However, when we turned Pandora's "Christmas Classic's" Station on the other day while sipping hot chocolate by our fire, I had to accept the early onset holidays and embrace it!

Therefore, I took one of my favorite bloggers free backgrounds and tweaked it for the holidays. I'm bringing you an overall APPLE background to get you in the mood a little more! Below are a computer, iPad and iPhone 4, 5 & 6 - get these on your phones to get you in the Holiday spirit!

Enjoy lovelies!

This Month in Instagram's

Hey!! Oh my, it's been WAYY too long since I've posted. Life has been really weird for me the past two months. Every day, I'm most likely balancing so many things. When I quite my full time job, I decided to stay on for a few hours a week to help out, I got hooked up with a random tutoring job, which led to another tutoring job, I'm working to get my puppy in agility training & I'm trying to grow my company. It's a lot to handle & the blog kind of got away from me, which I HATE. Therefore, I thought I would do a Month's worth of Instagram's -

1 // My husband's cousin got married in Praire Du Sac, Wisconsin near the end of September. This was our attempted "couple selfie" in the church and as always, my husband has his "selfie smile" going - also seen in photo 5
2 // Disc Golf with the Family since the weather has been so amazing, we decided to take Cooper with us!
3 // One of my best friends came into town for a WHOLE WEEK - it was amazing to say the least. This picture was snapped one night when we went out!
4 // I got to see my sister for the first time since our beach trip this summer - we watched Maze Runner & had Zoe's for lunch!
5 // Dave's "selfie smile" again while cheering on our Green Bay Packers!
6 // 2014 Halloween Costumes for a special needs Halloween Party at Merrimack Hall  here in Huntsville - Amazing programs & Amazing people! We were STRUCK BY LIGHTING! :)

It feels good to be back & keep an eye out for a bunch of freebies soon!

Let's Organize that Desktop!

Even though my desktop wasn't horribly unorganized, I like to keep it to the least amount of items on my desktop as possible. Unfortunately, to make things easy, it does make my life better having things on it for easy access! Want your desktop to look like this?

So this is what my desktop looked like below - like I said, it's been WORSE. But I had some random folders, pictures, songs, files, screenshots, etc. And I like to keep them on my desktop because I know that I'm going to be needing them soon and I don't want to delete them or place them somewhere where I will forget about it. You might be one of those people are SUPER ORGANIZED, but I'm hoping that you're life is a little unorganized like mine is (just to make me feel better!)

You can download your different colors below - these are formatted for 1280x800 which fits perfectly on my 13" macbook. If you want one of these in a different size, just shoot me an email at lilyandweston@gmail.com

Enjoy lovelies!

Flashback Friday - Our Engagement & Giveaway with Designs by Nicolina!

When Dave & I met - post about it here - we instantly knew that we were in this relationship with all of our hearts. Therefore, just a few months later, we starting talking hypotheticals. "When we have kids," "When we get married," etc. However, even though we were on the fast track to marriage, I had no idea that 11 months after we met, we would be engaged.

It all started with the weirdest conversation with my roommate / best friend ever.

Bestie - "Hey do you want to walk around Campus this afternoon?"
Me - "Why would we want to walk around campus?"
Bestie - "I don't know, just to like enjoy the weather before it gets cold."
Me - "I already worked out today."
Bestie -"But we've never like walked all around campus."
Me -"Okay..."

30 minutes later when we were about to leave -

Me - "Why are you like kinda dressed up?"
Bestie - "I thought we could get a picture in front of the Auburn Sign"
Me - "Who's going to take it?"
Bestie - "My boyfriend can come pick us up and take the picture!"
Me - "Okay...Why are you painting your nails?"
Bestie - "I just want them to look good for the picture, want me to paint yours?"

30 more minutes later, after my nails were painted and this outing to go "walking" had officially turned into a photoshoot, her boyfriend picked us up  -

Once we got to the Sign, this was the photo that ensued, which, was a great photo of us at the sign, I might add.
Ignore the matching outfits...
After this was taken, I saw Dave come out from behind the corner of the sign, and literally got so excited, just because he was in town, and the thoughts that were going through my head were, "Yay, my bestie totally just rigged this so that Dave could surprise me, it all makes sense now!" However, as soon as I got to Dave and hugged him, he stopped me mid hug and said, "Hold on, I've got to tell you something." This was when I have no idea what sentimental stuff he started saying was because when your boyfriend goes down on one knee, everything starts spinning.

This truly shows me how shocked I was. I just kinda kept looking at him. We then went on a little photoshoot catching the moments of our first few minutes being engaged, and of course, my now fiancé, decided to take some funny ones!

Any fun stories about your engagement?

Also, I'm so excited to be pairing up with Designs by Nicolina for a Giveaway! This is a super adorable Etsy shop that you must go to for all of your print & stationary needs. Baby Bird Nest - Cuteness Overload

Photo by Paul Chinn via Wildcare Website
As I was just chilling this past weekend watching TV, I had a cuteness overload of these adorable baby birds being rescued at WildCare in San Francisco, California - Visit their site - here. The "Nest's" that they are rehabilitated / cared for are knitted or crocheted by people from all over, and they NEED MORE. Obviously, since I know how to knit, I had to join this initiative and make one of these adorable things for these adorable babies!! They have to change them out throughout the day due to how dirty the feeding process and their pooping makes the "nests." So, as always, I hopped in my car ASAP and ran to the store to get some washable yarn to make a nest myself.

Here's how mine turned out -  I actually knitted two, since I bought plenty of yarn at the store. I even put it in a bowl just to see what it would look like! Also, when you send it in, they promise to send you a photo of your nest as well as bird's using them!! I just put these in the mail - so I can't wait to see if I get an e-mail back from them.

Beer Cakes - Pinterest for the Win!

With all of these birthday's coming up in our family, I've decided, since I'm staying home now, that I adventure into the world of cake making. Therefore, this opens up a whole NEW WORLD for me. When I came across these cakes on Pinterest, I knew that I had to make them for someone's birthday because they were so awesome. However, I kind of expected to fail. I even bought everything I would need to make a regular ole chocolate cake just in case!

Here's what they were supposed to look like, thank you Pinterest, for making me feel stupid. Because, as you can see, mine did not look like this...

The recipe was found HERE - and was very fun to make, considering how complicated it looks.

You start out with the chocolate cake mix in MASON JARS - bake for 20 minutes and cool for 10. This part was SOO easy, it was stupid. I only made 8, even though the recipe called for 10. Then you just made up the other ingredients, and put them all together. This was the hardest part of the process, because each one felt like a delicate flower that you didn't want to break. For mine, instead of cool whip for the top, since it was something that could only be added last minute, and I needed something that would already be on it, I whipped up a vanilla buttercream frosting (that I use for a lot of my cakes) and added that instead. It didn't look as great as the cool whip would have,  but it was still the right color and actually tasted better than I think the cool whip would have!

Here's a photo of my father-in-law enjoying his Birthday BEER MUG! Who can say that? These were a hit with my husband's family, simply because they were different. Even though they didn't look like the photo above, they were definitely a Pinterest WIN!

Happy Birthday Larry!

Flashback Friday - First Date

A few weeks back - a fellow blogger that I went to high school with posted about her first date - here at Believe in the Sparks & I'm totally stealing her idea!

Dave & I met in class at Auburn University, and of course, spent the WHOLE entire semester getting closer and closer to actually thinking about asking each other out. Finally, one day, he found me on Facebook & messaged me. I literally didn't know his name until that very moment. I was excited to have found out his name, that I wrote on this wall and seemed WAY to eager to keep talking to him. Even though we were busy with football and school, we couldn't stop talking - which led into us going out on a date three days after he added me on Facebook.

It was a Tuesday in November when he came to pick me up from my house, and he was so different from anyone I had ever dated, that it didn't shock me at all when he was driving a tiny little Honda Fit while wearing converse, a short sleeve button down, and cargo shorts. However, different was what I needed. My past relationships had been failure after failure, and at this point, picky was the last thing I needed to be when it came to the material things. It was cute and he was nice - different in a good way. We went to a pizza place in Auburn and before I knew it, the pizza and beers were gone. It seemed like the fastest date I had ever been on. It was amazing how much we had in common and how quickly an hour and half at the resturant had gone by. As we were leaving, we could both tell neither one of us wanted the date to end. Therefore, he snuck in a very casual, "Would you like to come meet my dog?" How does a girl say no to a dog? Two hours later, after meeting the cutest dog ever and talking through an entire movie, it was hard to say goodnight.

Luckily, we quickly planned to hang out the next night, and the next, and the next. Before we knew it, we were done with finals and heading home for Christmas. We weren't excited about not spending all of our time together, however, we knew what we had was special and used the Christmas break to meet each other's families. After that, I knew. I knew he was the one.

How did you meet your boyfriend/husband?
